Simon Töpfer is a junior consultant.
With an academic background comprising international development, politics and environmental issues, he approaches business and human rights from different angles. His main tasks include conducting research, compiling assessments of human rights risks in corporate value chains and mapping the potentially negative impacts on rightsholders. Additionally, he closely monitors global developments in the field of human rights and analyses its impacts on businesses. He is also the author of our policy briefs.
Prior to joining the team, he worked at an environmental public policy consultancy in water management and gained experience at the intersection of the environment and human rights in the political arena. Simon holds a B.A. in International Relations and Development Studies with special focus on the politics of the Middle East and East Asia as well as the global impact of environmental change.
He is a native speaker of German and fluent in English.
